Spencer & Crystal: Sweet Vintage Love

It had been raining for about 5 days prior to Crystal & Spencer’s wedding day, so it had to be sunny, right? Right! The sky cleared for May 5th, 2012 and allowed for the beautiful outdoor ceremony they have hoped for at their home in the Jackson, New Hampshire area. The view was spectacular, and their home has the most incredible birch tree forest! They hung twinkle lights from the tree’s and Dutch Bloemen Winkel had beautiful flowers sprinkled all over the property, and Crystal’s bouquet was incredible! So many little details were thought about, and everything just glowed. Crystal’s dress was an authentic vintage find and she made her hair piece! She is a hair and makeup artist, so she took care of those details herself. Additionally, Spencer designed her wedding band, which Crystal never saw until they exchanged their vows, and it was stunning. One of the most precious moments was when Crystal’s little niece Gemma broke into tears seconds before it was time for her to walk down the aisle. Crystal scooped her up with her arms, and just filled her with loved and asked if she wanted to walk down with her. A couple moments later though Gemma was able to do it all on her own! So sweet! They cleared out their open concept home to host the reception and dinner, so unique! To top off the evening they sung a first song together (instead of a first dance) and lovely toasts were made by friends and family. Congratulations Crystal & Spencer! Such a special day for a very special couple!

Last September Jessica called me up and asked if we could do a maternity session. I was thrilled. When we met right away I noticed she was petite, but her baby belly was amazing! I feel like the smaller the woman, the bigger the baby belly seems, as the only direction it can go at some point is out! Ok, see what I mean below?

Now, 5 months later, JohnJohn, her third little one was born, and we had the whole DeValle family together with husband Joe, daughter Molly, and the man in the middle is Joseph. We had a great time at Whitaker, and then in some fields just down the road right when the sun was setting. Bella! Below are some of my favorites.

Glenn & Jennie: Whitney’s Inn Early Spring Wedding

Glenn & Jennie were hoping to have a late white winter themed wedding, as they are both big skiers, and met at a ski resort. But mother nature had different plans for March 24th, 2012 when they said their “I do’s” at the beautiful Whitney’s Inn, in Jackson, New Hampshire. It was a mild spring day that allowed them to have their ceremony outside, along with all their portraits including some classic shots with their adorable to pups! Jennie wore her favorite cowgirl boots under her dress, and beautiful knit fingerless gloves that were specially handmade for her wedding day! Lovely little lanterns with candles were lit for guest to take into the classic New England barn, and also take home with them as a memento. As friends and family filled the beautifully rustic barn at the Whitney’s Inn there were fun toasts, a sweet first dance, much laughter laughter and nonstop dancing to celebrate the evening to it’s fullest. What a day! And it was wonderful to have fellow friend and colleague, Eric McCallister second shoot with me throughout the day. Thank you Jennie & Glenn, you two were a pleasure to work with, and I was honored to capture your special day!

Silas & Cheryl: Old Greenwich Engagement

Silas & Cheryl are two very dear friends, and I was ecstatic to do their engagement shoot! Cheryl is an old high school friend who is an amazing singer and songwriter, and Silas is a dear friend as well who is a climber and professional climbing guide. AND….and I am partly responsible for hooking these two up! Though it wasn’t intentional, but once they were in the same room there was no stopping their chemistry! During the holidays we met up in Old Greenwich, Connecticut at a beautiful spot known as Todd’s Point. The temperatures were seasonally mild, which were wonderful to work with! We hit the afternoon hours, and caught an AMAZING sunset right at the end. As I live in the mountains most of the year, it was a treat to shoot by the ocean which I spent a lot of time around as a kid. Congrats Cheryl & Silas! You two are so wonderful, and I am so excited for you two to start the next chapter in life together! Here are some special pictures for a very special couple!

Rama & Beth: Alyson’s Orchard Wedding on 11.11.11

What a date! Rama & Beth wed on November 11th, 2011 in the Keene, New Hampshire. The weather really kept us on our toes that day as it was filled with sun, then snow, then sun, then rain, then snow, and then clearing night skies! Keene is filled with old New England charm, one way streets, shops, and churches. They said their I do’s at the Keene Unitarian Universalist Church, and then celebrated with friends and family at Alyson’s Orchard in Walpole, NH. What a place! They have hills, landscapes, lakes, and a lovely barn like structure to host the reception in. We walked all over the grounds right before the sunset, and caught some beautiful light. They were so sweet, and constantly filled each other with love and laughter. The Big City Band played great music for all to dance into the wee hours of the night. Thank you Beth & Rama, it was such a pleasure to capture your special day!

Jason & Erin: All You Need Is Love

Jason & Erin tied the knot on October 15th, 2011 at the Stone Mountain Arts Center in Brownfield, Maine. From the moment I met Erin, I knew her wedding was going to be a special one. With a keen sense of design, her special day was just filled with beautiful little details, and of course memorable moments throughout the day. They wed in the main barn, and then we dodged in and out of the rain squalls when shooting the family, bridal party, and newly wed portraits. We went to one of my favorite old rustic barns just down the road, that actually is owned by one of her family friends a the wedding! We also had some sweet shots on the dirt road right outside of the Stone Mountain Arts Center (aka the SMAC). Erin and Jason have a strong passion for music (hence why they connected with the SMAC) and you could see this in their place cards to seat their friends and family during dinner- they were mini record covers! As you will see below, the Beatles are one of their favorites. Dancing into the night was held in the newer Quisisana Barn that the SMAC recently built, and it had such a great festive feel that kept everyone dancing until the last moment. Thank you Erin and Jason! It was so fun to capture your wedding day, I simply loved it!

Jonathan & Amanda: Purity Spring Resort Wedding

Amanda and Jonathan tied the knot on October 8th, 2012 at the Purity Spring Resort in Madison, New Hampshire. It was an amazingly beautiful fall day with the bluest skies, and the tree colors just booming! King Pine and Purity Spring Resort is a very special place to Amanda and Jonathan as Amanda’s folks run and own the wonderful resort (no pressure, right?). We got so many wonderful portraits of Amanda and Jonathan as we set up a first look moment for the two of them before their wedding ceremony. We also did family and bridal party portraits before hand, and that meant they could enjoy every moment of their reception. They tied the knot at the top of the King Pine ski mountain, and had the reception in a tent located on a small island on a beautiful lake. Right before the sun had set, we scooted off to take a few more portraits where some trees were reflecting off the water. Bella! Hilarious and sweet toasts were made, first dances were danced, and then this group boogied til’ they dropped! What a special day it was! Thank you Amanda and Jonathan, I was so honored you chose me to capture it! It was such a joy!

Well, I just loved these two! Chris and Mary met and fell in love while they were both in the Peace Corps in Kazakhstan. They decided to do a very sweet and simple elopement, that was just their style. And I loved their style! We met at the Notchland Inn, which is located in the White Mountain National Forest in New Hampshire. Their grounds are beautiful, and the inn is lovely as well. We had such fun capturing some sweet and intimate portraits, and also had a lot of fun putting together some fun and quirky ones as well. What a fun afternoon this was! Thank you Chris and Mary, I’ll always cherish this special shoot!

Chris & Ashley: Northern New Hampshire Love

Chris and Ashley wed at a place that is very near and dear to their hearts on October 1st, 2011. This “place” was Chris’s family camp in Sugar Hill, New Hampshire. Friends and family flocked up to northern New Hampshire to celebrate their special day. It was absolutely not supposed to rain on October 1st. And instead, it poured! But, as I tell all my couples it really is all about having a plan b, and just working with the day. Beautiful and fun imagery will naturally follow and that is exactly what happened! We had fun with umbrella’s and then zoomed down to the Sugar Hill Inn just down the road where they have a gorgeous wrap around porch that kept us dry. Everyone helped to make Chris and Ashley’s day so special, and they had some really sweet details. One of my favorites (and the funniest) being the dating application that Ashley’s dad had Chris fill out in high school when he first asked Ashley out, just to make him shake it his boots a little. Then their dear friend Andrea made their wedding cake, and Dan Blakeslee played their first dance song. At the end of the night the rain let up enough for us to sneak out to the birch arbor to do some night portraits. They were hoping to have their ceremony at the arbor but the rain altered that, so it was nice we could catch a special shot with is before the evening wrapped up. Thank you so much Chris and Ashley! Mark & Lisa: Intimate Jackson Wedding

On September 24th, 2011 Mark and Lisa wed in beautiful Jackson, New Hampshire with their closest friends and family surrounding them. These two were so wonderful, and I just loved how Mark was such a teddy bear of a man. They had an intimate first look moment on the grounds at the Wentworth Inn, and then we scooted all around Jackson to get some beautiful portraits of the two of them. Next they tied the knot at the quaint Jackson Community Church with Reverend Lee, and had their reception inside the Wentworth dining room. Dutch Bloemen Winkel filled the long rows of tables with gorgeous sunflowers, and to add a twist Lisa and her bridesmaids had fabulous carnation bouquets! I had never seen carnations done so fun and elegantly. All in all, the one word that keeps coming to mind when I think of Lisa & Mark is sweet- these two were just so sweet! Congrats you two, I loved capturing your sweet, sweet day!
