I just took a little break and spent two and a half days with my family in Jaffrey, New Hampshire. What a special time it was with my mom, dad, brother, sister in law, and my adorable two nephews. My little nephews have me smitten, and I snapped just a few portraits during our time together. I cannot wait for the next time they come visit Auntie Anne in New Hampshire. This is what summer is for, right?
Before I met up with Matt & Jen I grabbed a quick lemonade when I arrived at Prescott Park in Portsmouth, New Hampshire as it was a true 85 degree summers day. The lady at the lemonade stand asked- “where you coming from”? Was it that obvious I was a mountain girl in a historical seacoast town? I replied North Conway, New Hampshire and followed to tell her I was here to shoot engagement photos. She “ooooo-ed” and “awwwww-ed” about it, and chatted up about how fun and happy it is to photograph couples during this special time. She was 100% right!
I finished up my lemonade and it was time to find Jen & Matt for our shoot! The two met at work about three years ago, and are planning a beautiful wedding in South Berwick, Maine. We wandered all over Prescott Park, down to the docks, and then Jen slipped into her flats and we took a walk around the small streets surrounding Strawberry Banke. Portsmouth has so much character, is very colorful, and is filled with fun backgrounds to work with! A photographers dream! Right in the beginning of our shoot Matt sarcastically asked- “this should take 10 minutes, right?” Jen and I laughed, and before we knew it an hour had gone by and we had a blast. I was hoping to treat them to a lemonade when we were finished but the lemonade lady had already packed up. Jen said with a little smile “well, I guess we’ll just have to find an adult beverage instead.” Congrats you two! Can’t wait to capture your special day this coming August!Read More
The rain had not stopped for weeks in Vermont, but on Jonathan and Cameron’s wedding day, the clouds parted and even allowed the sun to peek through here and there. They wed at the Grand Isle Lake House, which is described as one of “Lake Champlain’s waterfront treasures” and it was absolutely gorgeous. Family and friends gathered on the beautiful porch of the lake house which created a wonderfully long isle for Cameron to walk down to her husband to be. After a lovely ceremony we headed off to take portraits, and then soon after the big celebration began! Beautiful decor, speeches, music, dancing and love filled up the tent at the Grand Isle Lake House. It truly was a beautiful day. Thank you Jonathan and Cameron for having me photograph your wedding day, it was an absolute pleasure.Read More
Jonathan and Lauren picked an incredible spring day to say their “I Do’s” on April 30th, 2011. They met before their ceremony and we whisked off to take fun portraits all around Jackson, New Hampshire. Then we headed back to the Christmas Farm Inn where family awaited their return for the wedding ceremony. The ceremony was very intimate and sweet, especially when Jonathan could not hold back tears of happiness. Congratulations and thank you for choosing me to capture your special day- it was so lovely!Read More
Carrie Scribner, owner of Dutch Bloemen Winkel in Jackson, New Hampshire officially opened the doors to her new shop today. I swung by this morning to say hi and it is absolutely gorgeous! It is filled with old finished wood, antique vases, cute cards, beautiful flowers, adorable succulents, and her classic pink & green colors accent the space. Be sure to check it out if you are in Jackson, and you will a reason to buy flowers the moment you step in.
Congrats Carrie! Take a peek!
Andrea and Adam tied the knot on April 9th, 2011 at Attitash here in the Mount Washington Valley. It was almost a year from when Adam proposed to Andrea, making this date one they will always cherish. About 200 friends and family came to celebrate their union, and we accomplished one of the largest group shots I’ve ever done. To top things off Adam and Andrea have been together since high school- yep, high school sweethearts! A slide show was put together by their parents and it was precious to see them years ago at proms and such. And I cannot forget to mention that their details for the wedding were pretty cool too. Album covers from their favorite bands took the theme for their seating charts, and they had a lovely brown and red color scheme to tie everything together. And of course I just loved the Chuck Taylors that were worn by the groom, groomsmen, one bridesmaid, and after the ceremony Andrea slipped into a pair herself. Then she was ready to boogie throughout the night. Here’s a little peak of their very cool, and special day. Thank you Andrea and Adam for having me capture it!Read More
Welcome! We just did some major spring cleaning here folks! As you can see Anne Skidmore Photography’s, www.asweddings.com has had a big make over. We are super excited to launch to the new site with all new portfolio images, logo, blog, vendor recommendations and more. A big thank you to Brian from 6288 Designs for all the web work (and patience) and also Tara Peterson from Stupendous Designs for reworking my logo. It’s been really fun to rework and put together!
I’ll start off the first blog from one of my first weddings from last year. Kate and Stefan were married at the Little White Church in Eaton, New Hampshire and had their reception and the beautiful and amazing Stone Mountain Arts Center in Brownfield, Maine. What and amazing day they had, and the portrait opportunities were endless from the church, to Crystal Lake, to old barns, and the Stone Mountain Arts Center itself. Take a peek below of their special day and enjoy peeking at the rest of the site!
